The Son of Yahweh is Not Yahweh

In response to:

Yes, we still do not believe that Jesus is Yahweh, the only true God. Nothing on the page gives any reason to think that Jesus is Yahweh, of whom he is the Son.

I am presenting the scriptures below that are used on the page. If the scripture has a link or links, all you need to is to click on the link(s) related to that scripture.  At present, not all scriptures have any link attached. Many scriptures provide links with Google searches which may or may not, at present, have a link that discusses the scripture from standpoint presented; if pertinent discussion should be added at a later date, then the search should include that discussion once it has been added.

1. Scriptures being used to claim that Jesus is Omniscient, evidently with the idea that such an attribute would mean that Jesus is his God, Yahweh.

Some general links:

Matthew 12:25

Matthew 27:18

Luke 6:8
See the Comments for Matthew 12:25

John 2:24-25

John 21:17

Revelation 2:23

The son of Yahweh, of course, does not know all that his God and Father knows.  (Mark 13:32; Revelation 1:1) Many trinitarians claim that only the “human being” does not know what God the Father knows, but that Jesus the God Being is supposed to allegedly not be the same sentient being as the human being, but rather an omniscient being. In effect, this actually makes Jesus into two separate and distinct persons, one who has only the sentiency of a human being who does not have the omniscient sentiency, and another who has the sentiency of the omniscient being.

2. Scriptures Presented to Allegedly Prove that Jesus is Omnipotent, evidently to supposedly prove this means that Jesus is the Most High.

Ephesians 3:20

Philippians 3:20,21

Colossians 2:10

Hebrews 1:3

Revelation 1:8

The truth is as revealed by God in the Bible: Jesus is son of the only Most High, Yahweh. Jesus is never spoken of as the “Most High”; he is not the only Most High Yahweh of whom he is the son. — Genesis 14:22; Psalm 7:17; 83:18; 92:1; Luke 1:32; John 13:16.

3. We are next presented with scriptures that are intended to show that Jesus Christ is unchangingimmutable

Hebrews 1:8-12

Hebrews 13:8

4. It is next claimed that Jesus, the Son of the Most High, is present everywhere – omnipresent.

Matthew 18:20

Romans 8:10

1 Corinthians 10:4

Revelation 2:1

Revelation 3:20

5. The next set of scriptures are supposed to prove that Jesus has eternal existence, evidently meaning that Jesus has always existed and will always exist.

Isaiah 9:6

John 1:1-3

John 8:58

Revelation 1:8

6. Scriptures are presented to allegedly prove the claim that the Son of Yahweh is the Creator, and thus Yahweh whom he is the Son.

Is Jesus the Creator?

Genesis 1:26

John 1:2-3

John 1:10
Evidently thought to support the idea that Jesus is Creator because the scripture, as it reads in many translations, says that the world into which the Logos came was made “by” the Logos. The word “by” is rendered from the Greek dia, which is being used here in the sense of an agent being used by another. The word is better rendered as “through” rather than by, as many translation do:  “He was in the world, and the world was made through him, and the world didn’t recognize him.” (World English) See also:

1 Corinthians 8:6

Colossians 1:16,17

Hebrews 1:2,3

Hebrews 2:10

Hebrews 3:3-4

7. The next set of scriptures gives scriptures that show that Jesus is the judge of all mankind, evidently with the idea that this would mean that the Son of Yahweh is Yahweh.

Jesus is made judge of all by the only Most High, Yahweh. The fact that Jesus is made judge actually shows that Jesus is not the Most High.

Matthew 7:22-23

Matthew 25:31-33, 41

John 12:48

Acts 10:42

Acts 17:31

Romans 2:16

Romans 14:10-12

2 Corinthians 5:10

2 Timothy 4:1, 8

Hebrews 10:30

We are next presented some scriptures regarding God’s holy spirit

Matthew 3:11

John 15:26

Romans 8:9

Galatians 4:6

Revelation 5:6

We are next presented with scriptures that are supposed to allegedly prove that Jesus is worshiped as the God of Jesus.

Jesus was never worshiped as the Most High; this is discussed in the following studies:

Jesus Received Worship

The Worship Due Jesus

Luke 4:8

Revelation 22:8-9

Acts 10:25-26

Matthew 2:1-2

Luke  24:51-52

Matthew 2:10-11

Matthew 8:2

Matthew 9:18

Matthew 14:33

Matthew 15:25

Matthew 28:9

Mark 5:6

Luke 24:51-52

John 9:35-38

Hebrews 1:6

Revelation 5:8-14

Revelation 15:3-4

We are given a scripture with with the statement that Jesus is the object of saving faith

John 14:1-6

We are next given a series of sets of scriptures that are supposed to show the Son of Yahweh’s “Essential Deity”

For our discussions on the word “deity” and usage in the Bible,  see:

1. Scriptures where the Son of God is supposed to show the Son of Yahweh’s “Essential Deity”

Matthew 11:27

Matthew 14:26, 33-33

Matthew 16:16

Matthew 26:63-65

2. The following are scriptures that are alleged to prove that Jesus’ being called “Lord” is proof that he is his God.

See the studies:
“Lord” in the New Testament

Luke 2:11

Luke 3:4-6

1 Corinthians 12:3

Philippians 2:11

Of course, in reality, the fact that Yahweh sent and anointed Jesus (Isaiah 61:1), and made Jesus “Lord” (Acts 2:36), does not mean that Jesus is Yahweh.

We are next given a series of scriptures from the Old Testament and New Testament that supposedly “point to Jesus Christ as being God.”

From the Old Testament:

Isaiah 7:14

Isaiah 9:6

Jeremiah 23:5-6

Micah 5:2

Malachi 3:1-2

Psalm 45:1, 6-7

Psalm 110:1-3

Scriptures From the New Testament

Matthew 1:23

John 1:1-3, 14

John 1:18

John 20:27-28

Romans 9:5

Philippians 2:5-8

Colossians 1:15-16

Colossians 2:8-10

1 Timothy 1:16-17

1 Timothy 2:3-4

1 Timothy 3:16

1 Timothy 6:14-16

Titus 1:3

Titus 2:10

Titus 2:13

Hebrews 1:1-3

Hebrews 1:8

Jude 25

We are next presented with scriptures where it is alleged that the Son of Yahweh claimed his own divinity.

Please note that we do not deny the divinity of Christ, but we do deny that the Son of Yahweh ever claimed to be his God.

Revelation 21:6-7

John 8:57-59

John 5:17-26

John 10:28-39

Mark 2:5-11
